Q & A

When is it best to photograph my newborn?

* Between 5-14 days for the best opportunity for sleeping, posed portraits
* Before or after 48 hours after receiving vaccinations.
* 3-5 days after circumcision
* 48 hours after coming home from the hospital

How do I prepare for our session?

* Dress baby in loose clothing, like a light sleeper.
* Try to keep baby awake for 1-2 hours prior to session to assure a better chance of baby sleeping. I trust you, do what is best for your baby.
* Relax and enjoy the journey

What should I bring to the session?

* Extra pacifier
* Bottle, extra formula or breast milk
* Blanket for comforting baby

What do you provide?

* Bathrooms are available across the hallway from the studio.
* Water fountain
* Bottle warmer
* Wraps, props and tiebacks/accessories

What should I expect during session?

* Newborn Portrait Sessions can take up to 4 hours
* Expect baby to need to eat throughout the session if baby is not settled. It is best to feed baby right before the session.
*Photographing newborns takes time and patience to wrap, and pose safely.
* Baby is the BOSS! We will not force your baby into any position that is not comfortable or one that causes discomfort. Every baby is different and so is each session. Safety is my #1 Priority.

Are siblings welcome?

Absolutely! Let's discuss this prior to the session to make sure we are successful. We generally plan to photograph family/siblings first and have a family member or friend watch over children or take them home to allow for ample time to photograph just the newborn.
